The Mridula Method

Healing your relationship with food

Signs you shouldn’t ignore

If you or your loved one is:

  • Constantly thinking about food
  • Avoiding meals or eating in secret
  • Fearing weight gain
  • Feeling anxious around food

It may be more than just “picky eating” or a “phase.” These are often the quiet signs of disordered eating. Finding support early makes a world of difference, and I am here to help you find your way back to a peaceful, sustainable relationship with food.

Why do I care so deeply?

A decade ago, my own teenage daughter asked me for a diet plan to achieve a “thigh gap.” As a mother and a professional, I was shaken to the core. It was a wake-up call to the distorted realities and dangerous habits young girls are pressured to adopt. Soon after, I met my first clinical case: a high-achieving athlete trapped in a spiral of low self-esteem and disordered eating.

That was my calling. I realized that as a nutritionist, I am often the first line of defense. My mission is to empower you to resist these unrealistic ideals and build a relationship with food that is peaceful, healthy, and kind.

How was the Mridula Method born?

In Sanskrit, “Mridula” means gentle. That is the soul of my practice, a Gentle Approach, Rooted in Science.

While I am trained in specialized protocols to treat eating disorders (EDRD Pro, USA), I quickly saw that Western models don’t always fit the rhythm of our Indian homes and traditions. The Mridula Method is the bridge; it brings together world-class science and the practical, compassionate reality of our daily lives.

How do I work with you?

  • Beyond the Surface: I don’t just look at what, when, and how much you eat. I explore the “whys”, the rules, the emotions, and the hidden behaviors that shape your relationship with food.
  • Practical, Evidence-Based Strategies: I select the most appropriate, scientifically validated strategies to help you recognize and gently shift patterns that no longer serve you.
  • Personalized Guidance: I don’t hand out a rigid plan. I provide the tailored tools, trackers, and support needed to quiet the “noise” and help you navigate toward lasting peace with food and your body.

Working within my scope

While I am qualified to provide nutritional support for eating disorder recovery, I believe in a truly well-rounded approach to healing.

My certifications allow me to go beyond just “meal plans.” I use specialized counseling techniques, like Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Determination Theory, to help us navigate the thoughts and emotions behind your relationship with food.

However, I deeply respect the boundaries of my role. I am a nutritionist, not a psychologist or psychiatrist. I often collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure you have the most complete and safe support possible.

Does this resonate with you?

If you are a mental health professional, I would be happy to offer specialized nutrition support to your clients.
